LOLER INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS

According to the requirements set out in LOLER, all equipment should be examined thoroughly by a trained and knowledgeable person and a testing record should be kept. The maximum time periods between thorough examinations are as follows:

  • Equipment to lift accessories and/or people – 6 months

  • Any other lifting equipment – 12 months

In addition it should be inspected and maintained on a regular basis, and it is good practice to check the equipment before the start of any project.
